The Art of tea making

After a long day walking through the fog and the rain we headed to the local shops in China to see what local interests we could find. The street wasn’t all that long so we walked up and down a couple of times. There was a particular shop, a tea shop, that caught our attention twice. And on the second time, I am glad to say, we stopped to take a look. Continue reading

Wild horses helped by humans?

I saw about 1 minute of a nature programme today, and this got me thinking.

It was said that there is a certain species of wild horse in China that is almost extinct. Humans have apparently fenced-in the horses so that they can not breed with other types of horse – and keeping the gene pool pure. You then hear that by being fenced in they may not be able to get enough food from the surrounding area. The food is already in short supply.

So what are we doing? Are we really saving these animals? Should we just allow the horses to go free to eat and mate?

If we stopped interfering then maybe the horses would mate and produce another type of horse that is superior, and be able to find their own food. Maybe they wouldn’t even be living in that particular area if there is no food there.

And to end this – maybe it is our fault too that there is no food there.

Or did I only hear half of the story? let me know :)

Mid Autumn festival

This was a great find. We passed by this village in China to see a large group of people celebrating the mid autumn festival. We were treated to a lantern being lit and then watching it fly higher and higher into the sky.

We couldn’t get too close so we took this video as close as we could.
