Poster to help save the environment

We just spent the night making a poster for the school.

Most of the time was spent discussing what the poster had to say, and as we only had a couple of hours to complete this we had to find the quickest and simplest method to complete it.

We decided that the title was the most important part, then the supporting messages. We thought that the images helped to create some interest.
The school logo was added to link the poster to the school.

So many examples of overpackaging

This may be a minor example of what is going on in the packaging world, but it is one that really threw me into frustration when I got it home.

toothpaste

Here we have a very simple toothpaste pack. That is until you squeeze the outer box to reveal that half of the box is empty. On closer inspection; this isn’t a mistake (even the shop assistant confirms this), we do in fact have 2 boxes put into a box big enough for 4 – why?

How can this still be acceptable when one of the major things on peoples minds (or at least should be on their mind) is that of waste and resources. Not to mention the consumer buying less for what they think was more.

Not going into detail about transportation costs, paper and print wastage, retail space and the many other areas that this single act has affected.

Please – let’s use less packaging! use packaging that is reused or recycled, and make sure it is recycled.
